Need advise about car accident/insurance

Featured Replies

Hi fellow community members,

i had a accident yesterday in khon kaen, not much damage. When I made a turn a police car was in a rush to get back to narkom Panom and he crash into my front bumper.

police car had no insurance ????.

i am with Bangkok insurance(1st class)and they came and assest the situation. They will pay for both.

Today in the morning I went to Isuzu (center), I ask my insurance company if they could repair it and they said yes. The claim lady said that the car has to be in for 7-8 days, she advise it to do it after new year. (I don’t know the reason)

Now my question is this, in that 7-8 days would the insurance pay for me for a rental car?
In US they would pay up to 30 days right?

thanks for the advise and help

I'm afraid we're not in Kansas Toto, unless your insurance policy specifically includes a renter (unusual) you're out of luck.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

You need to check the policy to see what's covered, phone the insurance company if you haven't got the docs

I had last month an accident and I was in my right.

Another car drove straight into my rear bumper while I was waiting for the green light at a crossing.

My car was 7 days in repair and I rented a car for these 7 days.

I was refunded 500 baht/day (limit on rental repay) = 3,500 baht.

Ask your car insurance company.

Generally no.

They can claim it from the other party if they're at fault but since the other party doesn't have insurance, it probably won't be recovered.

Also the reason they advise you to fix it after new year is because it would take longer before due to the extra public holidays.
