Cabinet approves 11 billion baht to fight COVID-19 as Bang Lamung locked down

The Thai cabinet has approved an 11 billion baht budget to fund the procurement of medical equipment, vaccines and medicines to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and to compensate about one million public health volunteers for three months, from January to March next year.

Thai PM assures no national lockdown despite a surge in COVID-19 cases

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has reassured that the Thai government will not resort to a lockdown of the entire country in the wake of the surge in COVID-19 infections, noting that provincial governors are authorized to make decisions about necessary measures in their provinces to stem the spread of the contagion.

Nonthaburi declared COVID-19 controlled zone as infections surge

2 dead, one missing as boat capsizes in Chachoengsao’s Khlong Siyad Reservoir

A sightseeing boat reportedly carrying 12 passengers, including two children, capsized in the Khlong Siyad Reservoir, a tourist attraction in Chachoengsao’s Thatakiab district, at 3.30pm on Wednesday, resulting in two deaths. One person is still missing.
