Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has expressed his wish, in his New Year’s address given against the backdrop of a second COVID-19 outbreak, that Thai people will be happy and safe and that they reflect on their performance in the past year, in order to change for the better.

He said that people are facing a situation which requires the exercise of great caution by all concerned, adding that the coming year should be the “Year of Family” and a year of happiness at home or in safe places, while admitting that he does not know how long the current challenging situation will last.

He said he wishes everyone well for the coming year.

Don't reflect on his performance in the past year, or the years before...

""..Thai people will be happy and safe and that they reflect on their performance in the past year, in order to change for the better."

A sentence which has as much specific meaning as  'if things don't change they will stay the same'.

You are weeing into the wind, big fella, talk to the 1% that control 66% of the countries wealth and tell them that Buddha spent his life speaking about the perils of greed! I notice you have a lot of temples in Thailand!

rich bad people can just give a brown envelope to a temple and buy karma points for all the bad things they have done

I think that applies to most of the population, just the contribution (merit) varies! :jap:

Will you just stop for one moment, and listen to yourself? Are you capable of self reflection, and are you capable of seeing your failings as a leader?

The great and benevolent leader has already insured happiness. He is lowering unemployment. He is growing the economy. He is increasing tourism revenue. He is increasing exports. He is abiding by all of the terms of the ASEAN charters he signed, and allowing the duty free importation of all beer throughout ASEAN. They are on all of the supermarket shelves as we speak. We are not longer subject to the very low quality local beers. He is making visa policy easy, simple and streamlined, and all tourists are very happy about that. He is improving traffic and public safety. Corruption is being eliminated, and innocent fall guys are no longer getting charged for murder, and being put to death. The taxi mafia on Samui and Phuket have been eliminated, and tourists can now get a taxi at a fair price. Air quality is a top priority. The army is making one sacrifice after another, to life up the life of the average Thai. Life is better for all now that this great man is demonstrating his genius and vision on a daily basis. All he cares about is the welfare of his own people, and the happiness of both tourists and the ex-pat community. He contemplates this day and night.

No. Not. Little P. Not making Thailand great again. And moving the nation backwards at an astonishing and alarming pace.

Not only the items on your long list but he also cancelled the useless purchase of subs and the "moonshot".

If only. The purchase was put off for one year. One can only hope by the time the first sub is finished, the hapless army has already been ousted by the youth of this nation, and this utterly ridiculous project can be completely scrapped.

The Thai army - wasting the nation's resources, accomplishing nothing, and moving the nation backwards. Out with the dinosaurs!
