PHUKET:-- People have been asked to not have any vehicles parked along Thepkrasattri Rd from Wat Khosit all the way south to the Phuket Immigration Office on Phuket Rd this evening (Jan 4) as workers begin their campaign to sanitise roads and footpaths in Phuket Town in order to protect against the spread of COVID-19.

The cleanse will continue until Tuesday next week (Jan 12), Phuket City Municipality said in an announcement today.

The campaign is a joint effort by Phuket City Municipality and Phuket Provincial Administration Organisation (PPAO, or OrBorJor).

Just a PR exercise.

I guess someone sees an upside in using public money for no public gain. What's the going rate - 30 percent?

Let them get on with it. Let them believe it works of it makes tham happy.

They did all this to Bangla road around Apr I think, they sprayed the lampposts right up to the top of 6m or more (those sick farangs regularly climbed them...lol ????), they even re-surfaced the whole street as the asphalt had caught the virus and even being under regular rain and hot sun was terribly sick...!!! ????

But look at it as infrastructure work, keep someone employed and if they clean something maybe it's worth it...????
