Looks like we are getting back to where we were last year in March and April.  Just the start of more things closing up.  Stock at least a months worth of Baht in your personal safe if you have one to ensure you have money on hand if needed or get ready to use plastic to make your orders on-line.

Small problem. I have cash but it is in foreign notes.

Krungsri have refused foreign notes for about 9 months. (No reason given.)

I cannot pay them into any of my accounts.

Wow! Luckily I just went to the 'closed' branch on 4th Jan before it closed today.

They are afraid that touching foreign notes can get them infected with the virus . That's the reason.

More cost-cutting disguised as COVID measures.

So their idea of a COVID precaution is to close a pile of branches temporarily and force more people into the ones that are open ! Er what ? ????

Or maybe they're closing the ones in areas where infections have been detected in some numbers?

Protecting staff and customers.

Expect others to follow if things worsen.

If people need to go to a bank they will go . If it’s open in another area and they really need go they will . So therefore they will travel spreading or increasing infection chances .

In the short term, maybe. But as it spreads, expect more closures, banks and others. If it's contained, there won't be,

Banks are, one would think, essential businesses.

Many online deliveries only accept cash, e.g., our local 7-11.

that's their staff's 2021 annual leave gone

not even being cynical

From some of the social media 'gossip' doing the rounds - and this news is actually two days old. It broke on Wednesday on local social media as I saw that exact same krungsiri announcement on a Thai twitter feed. A member of staff at one of the branches tested positive for Covid. But that staff member had also been in contact with bank employees from the other branches as well, so they closed all of them. No mention of how many customers came into contact with the staff member.

This is based from social media twitter feeds.

Now where would a banker get covid from? We all know bankers love to play with money?
