SAO PAULO (Reuters) - A coronavirus vaccine developed by China’s Sinovac Biotech was just 50.4% effective at preventing symptomatic infections in a Brazilian trial, researchers said on Tuesday, barely enough for regulatory approval and well below the rate announced last week.

OK. Now we have yet another vaccine we can avoid, in favor of the ones which are more effective. Why am I not surprised a Chinese vaccine would be less effective?

50.4% effective means those who got the vaccine will have 50.4% less chance of contracting COVID-19 than those who did not get the vaccine.

 

Doesn't mean that those who got the vaccine will have 50.4% chance of contracting COVID-19.

The only place I have seen that information is in khao sod. Nowhere else. And a claim that the vaccine is 100% effective in warding off moderate to serious cases is just not believable. Come up with a better source.
