Thai Red Cross is calling for plasma donations from recovered COVID-19 patients

The Red Cross is appealing for plasma donations from fully recovered COVID-19 patients, because it may contain the antibodies which can help others infected by the virus.

Donors must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 50 kilograms. They must be in good health and must have a prior, verified diagnosis of COVID-19, but are now symptom free.

Assoc.Prof. Dr. Dootchai Chaiwanichsiri, the director of the Red Cross’s National Blood Center said, after the plasma drive in April last year, over 400 people registered to donate the plasma. Only 152 of those were, however, able to donate, producing 383 bags of viable COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma (CCP).

Before you say "this does not work" many times before they have modified this blood & managed to come up with something useful.

The problem at present with any advantage from blood is the quantity required

It does seem to work only if you get the plasma with antibodies injected very early in CV19 infection or before you you get infected. If a family member is infected then maybe you should get plasma with antibodies injected so you will not get sick. I mean if you are very old or in a risk group.

At least that is what I have read.

I have also experience with antibodies for other diseases and it certainly works to prevent disease but not have not tried it with Covid-19.

This doesn't work. It's been tested elsewhere and dropped because it doesn't work

I've read the same......that latest trials show NO DIFFERENCE  in recovery rates or deaths using plasma from previously infected CV 19 patients.
