I already said Biden won. Do I think it was fair - given the circumstances? Nope. Biden repeatedly stated he would be the President of all Americans and unite the people, so far he's done nothing that I'm aware of to even begin that process. Surely there would have been so much as a hint of how by now, don't you think? As President, it's Biden's job to say and do whatever it is he must in order to unite the country - it's not up to me.

You're confusing the Republicans in the House and Senate with the American people.

More than two-thirds of Americans support Biden’s $1.9 trillion Covid relief plan, poll finds

Nearly 70% of Americans support President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief plan, a new poll found, as Democrats struggle to win Republican votes on Capitol Hill.

The $1,400 direct payments and $15 per hour minimum wage included in the package also have widespread backing, the Quinnipiac University survey showed.

Republicans are wary of more spending after the passage of a $900 billion relief plan in December, and offered Biden a $618 billion proposal.

I am sure in my own mind who has sold their soul (if he has one) to the devil who you are talking about.

I'm also 100% sure that it isn't Joe Biden.

I suppose. Just not to put on a clown show like we just saw with Democrats wasting everyone's time, when pretty much they and everyone else already knew what the outcome was going to be. Meanwhile the rest of the world, our enemies - and even some of our allies - are laughing at us. IMO it was nothing more than showcase of the left's never ending hatred for Trump that they just can't seem to put away. I realize a lot of it is Trump's fault, but not all and the blind hatred has fueled just as much of the division that exists on both sides. Perhaps those who hate America enjoy watching this division become greater...I don't.

If it was a clown show , it was on the republican side. First " the trial should be after  the inaugurations, two weeks is not enough time" then "you can't have a trial after the inauguration, it is unconstitutional, and  one week is plenty of time " same than the clown show where you could not confirm a supreme court judge  during an election year for trump , but hurry up and confirm a supreme court judge in the last month of an election year for trump.

I think the A in the USA for republicans it stands for United States of Amnesia .

Not surprised you would say that at all - I expected it. I do think it's hypocritical of you to suggest the Democrats, especially in their current form, would have done anything different with regards to pushing through a SCOTUS nominee in the time allotted, had it been their chance to do so. There was nothing illegal about it, just a bunch of folks getting their panties in a wad over something that hadn't been done before.

Bident should be held to the same standards, If he lies , he should be fact checked, if he commits a crime he should be prosecuted,

Do you have any Biden lies you want to fact check? or any illegal activity you want prosecuted?

Are we talking about the same Joe Biden?  I'll bet you can't even give me one example where Biden has been asked a tough question by the media. That said how can one hope that Biden will ever be held to a fair standard? IMO, the media has done nothing but fawn over him, so far. I would love for you to prove me wrong.

Yes why not, should illegal acts be tossed away?

What did he do that was illegal? What exactly was he found guilty of? Was their anyone in their right mind who honestly thought Trump wouldn't be acquitted? The whole impeachment procedure was just a formality and a waste.

That poll may be accurate and then again maybe not. I would be skeptical of any poll put out by CNBC, quite frankly. It may just be that people are hurting financially and want to get some relief, which they've had to wait too long for already. Regardless, it's going to take a lot more than that to heal the huge division that exists and for the country to begin moving forward. We will never be successful going forward being divided as much as we are now. I've not yet seen anything that would give me any indication Biden will be a man of his word.

Not higher, not lower, the same. You are the one who is claiming that he is not, and it is up to you to support your claims.

Biden Extends Press Conference to Take Final Question From Fox News Reporter: ‘I Like Him’

President Joe Biden stopped his staff from herding reporters out of a Monday press conference to take a question from Fox News reporter Peter Doocy, who he said he “liked” despite his adversarial questions.

“Wait, wait, wait,” Biden said. “I know he always asks me tough questions, and [they] always have an edge to them, but I like him anyway.

That’s hilarious. You’re actually going to reference a question from Fox News? Wow that has to be a first. A liberal quoting Fox...is that even allowed here on TVF? When I wrote the original post I almost put down “and Fox News doesn’t count”. But then I thought no, nobody with an opposing liberal view here would ever quote  or reference Fox news.

Very unconvincing attempt at deflection by a very lame generalization. Let me remind you of what you wrote:

"I'll bet you can't even give me one example where Biden has been asked a tough question by the media."

You asked for a tough question from the media. I cited one. Just like Trump, you don't know how to lose graciously.

Of course we can't, because he was not held to a higher standard , as he should.

Nobody claimed that Biden was ever held to a higher standard.

Why is it a clown show just because the outcome was predictable? It does not mean the trial should not have happened. More than half the senate voted to convict him, only Republicans voted to acquit him and not all of them at that. Trump was impeached while he was still in office therefore a trial needed to happen. There has to be a line drawn and consequences (in this case facing a trial in the senate) so future presidents know that the last 8 weeks of their term if they are not getting another term, are not a free for all and a free pass for bad actions. There has to be a line that is drawn and that line WAS drawn, no matter what the outcome was.

Where was the need for healing back in October when a Supreme Court Justice was being rammed through the system for the Republicans less than a month before the 2020 election when 4 years earlier a nomination by the Democrats was left stranded and to die on the vine by Mitch McConnell after 10 months with the excuse that the American people should decide the nomination with the presidential election? ***THAT*** is the type of action that stokes the fire of division...

Don' realy like to chip in on thist ongoing spat. All I would like to say is that the daily news conferance from the Biden Whithouse is refreshingly accurate and business  like, and so far without obvious lies.

Biden and Trump have been held to the same standard....the difference is Biden fairs way better at least attempting to reach that standard than Donald Trump could have ever hoped to do. And what is the tough question that you think Trump was asked so unfairly that Biden has not been asked? And why doesn't that beacon of truth Fox News ask that question for you....perhaps you should get Sean Hannity on the phone and tell him to do his job....

Dems. have a one track mind and it's not for putting America first. It's for changing America into something that they want it to be. Over a short period of  time from now we will see their true face and it's a ugly one.

4 years.

When asked any question he didn’t want to answer Trump’s standard response was to whine that the question was ‘nasty’ and/or launch a personal attack on the person asking the question.

The majority of people who voted wanted a Democrat President, Democrat control of Congress and Democrat control of the Senate.

Personally, I don't consider wanting a non racist society where people put others before self and don't see personal wealth as their ultimate goal, ugly. Only in America.

Mmmmm.....you do know that that is the purpose of a political party?....to explain to the people what they stand for.....people vote for them (or not) on that basis....and then they enact policies to achieve those aims....... did that idea pass you by?

They could give it a name...oh!...how about democracy?

So does that mean the GOP doesn't want to change America into something they want it to be? If that's not the case then what exactly do the GOP reps want??
