Popular Post webfact
PM defends police reshuffling Paphamon Arayasukawat BANGKOK (NNT) - The Prime Minister has assured fairness in police reshuffling with no calls for kickbacks, reminding that channels for complaints are available. Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha responded to opposition accusations of opacity in the administration of the nation’s police, saying all reshuffling of the force is done in accordance to regulations and the Police Act, noting he has not personal authority to order any position changes and all conclusions are based on decisions by relevant commissions based on set criteria and appropriateness. He added that transfers are also done to disperse authority across the police organization and reminded that channels are available for complaints of unfairness to be filed to the Administrative Court. Addressing accusations by the opposition that kickbacks have been requested in exchange for positions, the PM stated he has already opened channels to receive reports of such schemes but has not received any complaints despite allegations being made publicly. He affirmed he has never benefited personally from a police reshuffle. Gen Prayut further explained that well-performing civil servants are normally promoted to higher posts with greater responsibility and remuneration as is his wish for efficient work. He conceded that for those who fail to perform, reassignment must occur. The PM asked for understanding that the Royal Thai Police is a large organization that is complicated to oversee while giving his word that fairness and righteousness is being used to manage the force, urging confidence among the public. On reshuffling involving the Special Service Division, the PM explained that particular stringency must be applied to the unit as it performs royal guard duties and requires qualified personnel in terms of skill, attitude and appearance. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-02-19 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updatesv

Popular Post thaibook
If you do not already do so, listen to Somdhi on Youtube. He provides destails of who the drug gangs are paying, the names, pictures, amounts paid, amounts in accounts etc. (In Thai so if necessary ask your wife/girlfriend to translate.) If he knows, senior police and government ministers must know and hence must be receivng for keeping quiet. These people are drug dealers or drug financiers. Give their names to your national drug authorities (if you are outside LOS) and have them banned from US, Aus, UK, etc and assets confiscated. In case you ask he has already been the target of shootings but goes on.

internationalism
the elephant is in the room. This special promotion for officers was going for at least 10 years. Some disgruntled officer passed secret documents, called "the elephant orders", to Rangsiman Rome, an MP from future forward. Yesterday they were presented in the chamber. Both, the PM and his deputy, Prawit, are implicated. Both of them were overseeing police force in 2019 and in earlier years, when they were NCPO junta. Surely, those orders were in circulation after 2019, just not uncovered yet https://www.thaienquirer.com/24498/rangsiman-rome-presents-evidence-of-elephant-ticket-police-corruption/?fbclid=IwAR3JIGsEL7TNslFhzRpwXplJSd5FBCVL3BT8gP6uMLzGnzmo_6oE2eojKkk more material on the subject is in thai and under #ตั๋วช้าง but soon there would be articles in english in an international media Edited February 20, 2021 by internationalism

Andycoops
With statements like this he wonders why no one listens but instead laugh. The little man is a coward and can't even stand for election as he is unable to debate. Too used to giving orders to the supplicants is the usurper of democracy.

Dogmatix
I often wonder why the Royal Thai Police is just called the National Police in Thai. Same with the army, navy and air force. The word Royal doesn’t appear in their Thai names.

spidermike007
Have you noticed how you are always on the defensive? Why is that Prayuth? It is likely because you do so little for your nation. Anything, absolutely anything that can be done to limit the power of the army, and the toxic and corrupt senators they appointed, is a good thing for the nation. The dinosaurs must be made extinct. And the youth must be allowed representation or control. Total control, if possible. They are the only ones who can move this nation forward, and stop the heinous and regressive army. Had Prayuth and his team been on the ball, this latest outbreak that happened in Samut Sakorn, would have resulted in an immediate shutdown of at least that part of the province, and it would have likely been contained. Domestic tourism would have been saved, millions of jobs, and the nation would not have had to endure the latest nonsense, due to your extreme lack of effort, vigilance, and c competency. He and his utterly hapless and stunningly incompetent army have failed us once again, and he needs to admit the failure, apologize to the nation, and fall on his sword, metaphorically, by handing in his resignation, in utter humiliation. The real problem is, they will not go after these guys. Not the top bankers, not the high ranking guys, not the provincial authorities, and certainly not the army, or the police. Many of them are corrupt beyond imagination. And the level of corruption simply escalates, the further up the food chain you go. They police and army are not expected to be honest, and they are not expected to engage in law enforcement, traffic or public safety, on any level. It is an irrevocably broken and dysfunctional system. Shuffling is simply a way to avoid charging these dishonest guys with a crime. Anything hyperbole to the contrary, is just a smoke screen, intended to deceive the most naive amongst us. We know what you are doing. We see right through your charades.

Not in most organizations I've worked in. Those with the brownest noses tend to be promoted to higher posts wherein they can exemplify the tenets of The Peter Principle, i.e., "people are promoted to their level of incompetence". In Thailand it's worse as those who are promoted want universal adoration without actually having to interact with and manage their subordinates. Having seen it first hand in practice - it's ugly - and creates the conditions for unmotivated, uninspired, and under-productive workforces comprised of people whose primary wish it to be promoted to their highest level of incompetence and laud their status over those "lower" then themselves. Forward thinking youth may be able to change this cultural wind-anchor, but they usually get thrown in jail or shot before they can have an effect of changing society and cultural norms. But I hold out a some hope in our youth.
