Senechal Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 Thai 60-day tourist visas from embassies now require "bank statements with sufficient funds to cover your trip to Thailand" This is rather nebulous. Do I have enough already? Or do I need to transfer some cash in. How would one know? Can someone tell me exactly how much $$$$ I need to keep in my checking account to satisfy this requirement? Thanks
ubonjoe Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 The standard requirement to apply for visas is 20k baht or $700 US (us embassy rate). I would consider that the minimum. From the MFA website. https://image.mfa.go.th/mfa/0/zE6021nSnu/3_Types_of_Visa_Tourist_Visa.pdf
blackcab Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 The UK Embassy recently asked a colleague of mine to show evidence of 700 pounds sterling. That is a very minimal amount, considering the cost of the flight, the mandatory insurance and the ASQ hotel.
