Hey guys,

 

Has anyone visited Thailand recently and done the ASQ process what was it like? Do the hotel staff pick you up from the airport or is it a different entity.

 

Will our passports be stamped after completing the ASQ or do we recieve some sort of certificate to allow us to travel further?

yes to all but you must hold on to every covid 19 results papers they give and most  important the check out docs they give you when leaving   after you will have to show them to the hotel when you check in.on landing  they will pick you up at airport and escorted to hotel right into your room no escape allowed.

After completing ASQ Quanrantine do they

 

a) Stamp passport b) give you a certificate of proof

 

Second question:

Who exactly "escorts" us from Thailand airport on arrival - is it the hotel staff OR airport staff OR is there just a taxi waiting outside

A driver, arranged by your ASQ hotel, will meet you at the airport.

So we will go through immigration , have a covid 19 test and then someone will check our ASQ booking information - Or can we find an ASQ after the airport

No there is no covid test at the airport, those happen at the ASQ hotel. 

 

You can not even get the Visa and\or COE without booking an ASQ hotel before you ever come

We have attempted the COE before without flights and they asked for flight itinery so we ar going to buy that tomorrow however once we resubmit the application are you 100% sure they will not accept us without the booking for the ASQ Hotel too!

No, a minority of hotels do a test on the day you arrive (at the hotel, not the airport), the majority on around day 5. This may change after 1 April of course.

That will be checked multiple times by multiple people prior to departure and on landing - as Dan stated, you won't even get a COE without it.

Yes, absolutely.

 

check with your Thai Embassy in your country. It has all the info you keep posting question on.

I wonder if it is allowed to decide whether to use the nose or throat for the tests?

The Covid-19 PCR test in Thailand swabs both the back of the throat and the deep into the nasal cavity. 

(at least the two I had when I was in ASQ)

 

So, I’m not sure if you get the option for an either or, rather its both !
