We have two deep wells that I heard are 200m but not sure.  The Homeowner's Association is asking 35k baht to clean one of them, not the pump, just the well.  I have heard estimates of 4-8k.  Has anyone ever paid to do this and how much was it?

I would be interested to know what is done by "cleaning" a borehole.  In our case, the borehole is about 32m deep and the bottom 10m or so starts becoming a muddy slush about this time of year when the water table drops.  I don't see how re-drilling or anything else would remedy for that.  As soon as we get a decent rain the problem is no worse than cloudy water.

I had my 43 meter deep well "serviced" a year or so ago. The process involves pulling the submersible pump and of course the pipes down to it. The well outfit checked all the cabling and dismantled the pump to clean the filters of any sand and silt check it and re-assemble all. Before lowering the pump again they used an air cart to blow air down into the well to clear the hole at the bottom and open it up. After this they put it all back together again. Process took several hours and I think I paid 14k baht for all labor and a few parts. Wellman said I have a good well with good supply. He was amazed we had not had any service for almost 10 years.
