Naew Na reported on a case that they said was right out of the movies - a chase from Khon Kaen province to neighboring Udon Thani last night.

A chase that involved many police jurisdictions and dozens of rescue foundations who joined in.

It started at 6.30 pm at a gas station on the Friendship Highway in Nam Phong sub-district of Nam Phong district in Khon Kaen.

Theeraphat Moonthip, 41, the driver of a gas tanker and his wife Phaijitree were having a furious argument after he claimed she had another man.

They got out and he then stabbed her and fled in the gas tanker.

Police there radioed ahead to Khao Suan Kwang, Non Sa-at, Kumphawapi and Muang Udon jurisdictions to set up measures to stop the fleeing assailant.

Then 50 vehicles belonging to at least four rescue foundations got involved in the chase.

It eventually ended not far from Udon city itself near the Nong Phai weigh station in Muang district.

Police shot out the tires of the tanker and Theeraphat was taken into the custody of the Muang district police.

He explained how he had used a fruit paring knife after he believed his wife was cheating on him.

Oh! They think?

Don't be silly. Of course they do, just not on duty.

They aren't paid enough to do that.

Where in the article did it say the tanker was moving when the tires were shot? It could have been forced to a slow or stop by blocking the road

Indeed, Nam Phong to Udon is about 80 km.

No way he could go without being forced to stop or otherwise crash and create a flaming inferno.

Did you watch it on Thai TV this morning? I did, people armed with clubs attacking the driver and stomping on his head

Just seen the clip on CH7. Lynch mob in action.

He didn't leave the truck easily.

He was fiddling with the knife playing suicide and crying for his mom with window down.

Then seems police managed to hit the knife with a club.

Looks like they forced him to stop by blocking the road with big trucks.

Has its risks too.

So, after all the drama, how is the wife doing??? Ordinary journalism!

According to the nightly news, the wife was dead at the scene. Her final mistake in life was to marry an overly-suspicious, violent, yaba-smoking lunatic. Let's hope that she possesses better judgement in the next life.

Often trying to be first on the scene / first to get their hands on any injured people / first to claim the damaged vehicle(s), all aimed at getting payments / commissions.

Why the confused emoji?

This is not a movie...Those bullets can ricochet and hit innocent bystanders.

This happened in an older article as well (Thai police shooting at the tires).

Can someone please post a link to the youtube, fb, or news with the video clip?

Or upload it here if it is small enough.

They were probably thinking about stopping it before it caused anymore carnage than the driver had already done,  and they did, safely.
