How to remove hard water stains from car windows

Title pretty much says it all.

Done some googling without much success, anyone have some secret formula that actually works.

Might be worth giving toothpaste a try!

Wash the windows with soap and water and wipe them dry immediately.

Clean water and a Chamois cloth.

vinegar won't work, so use meguiar water spot remover, then polish if still not clean.

no other solution that works.

I have used vinegar and baking soda polished with a micro cloth with success on surface spots but If etched into the glass this process will not work.
