Custom/Home-made engine guards

Featured Replies

Looking to get an engine/sump guard fitted to my CB500X to protect it when riding off-road.
Been quoted 4700 BHT for a SRC guard, which seems a lot of money for what is just a piece of metal. Anyone seen any cheaper alternates on Lazada? Or has anyone got one fabricated? Cant imagine its too difficult for a decent welder to knock up.
Or am I better off saving hassle and just getting the branded one fitted?

Cheers!

Depends where you are. In Bangkok you could go to Poonsap market and ask/look.

Easier in Chiang Mai? As there maybe more back country riders?

Then again you could look for a welder

-Who has the time

-who has the exact material

-Who knows what you want

-Knows where the mounting points are

-Etc.

Maybe someone else who lives near to you has done exactly the same and the welder can remember exactly what he build for them? Without being provided with a drawing.

But yes they do seem more expensive for a CBX500. Non on Lazada for VersysX.
