I have read that retirement extensions can be applied for in Bangkok 45 days before the expiration date stamped in the passport.  My "must leave by" date stamp is May 24th.  According to Professor Google, 45 days before May 24th is April 9th; tomorrow.  Before I trek out there tomorrow, I just want to make sure that Thai logic doesn't consider the 24th to be the 'first day before' the expiration date stamp.  If it does, then I'm screwed and have to wait until after the holidays.  Thanks.
