A Thai man and his young grandson drowned off Pranburi beach on Monday.

Witnesses said how the boy had got into difficulty when the man entered the water to try and save him but was also swept away.

Rescue workers were able to recover the man’s body, it was some time later before the body of the boy could be recovered, a witness said.

The incident took place around 4pm on Monday.

Rip tide, I guess. Getting the life saving certificate when I was a kid probably one of the better investments I made in my life. At least if I go in I can do something useful. All kudos to the grandfather, though.

Kudos for what? Allowing the child to go into dangerous  water conditions? Responsible adults look at water conditions first.
