Well I thought I'd seen every variation and modification of motorcycles in Thailand, even the new "mini stealth scooters" that seem to be becoming popular.

However this morning I saw a guy on a "Mono-motorcycle".

Very much like the circus pedal bikes.

One wheel, estimated wheel diameter a tad smaller than the average wave wheel, with quite a fat tyre.

Foot rests either-side of the centre hub, he was stood bolt upright [I couldn't see a saddle] but I  presume it must have one..

He was on the inside lane "curb-side" of a car coming towards me so only got a quick glance as I looked back.

He must have nerves of steel to ride that and keep complete balance...

Ohh NO handlebars so not sure how the braking works?

Has anyone else seen one as after 13 years here it's my first one.

I have seen a couple of them, you are correct no handlebars and no saddle.

Motion is controlled by balance, lean left to go left, lean right to go right and lean back to slow/stop.

In an emergency just jump

Thx.... I only had a few seconds glance at it as he was tailing gating another car on the inside going the opposite direction to me...

sheer balance... no saddle, no handle bars how in gods earth does that get to be allowed?

ok ok I know.
