There are early signs that health officials in Prachuap Khiri Khan have the upper hand in the battle against COVID-19.

Data released by public health officials on Thursday show the number of daily new infections have fallen considerably since a peak earlier this month.

According to Hua Hin Today, the Prachuap Khiri Khan reported its highest number of new cases in a single day on April 12, when 141 new cases were confirmed.

However, by April 21 and the number of daily new infections reported was down to 37 cases and has steadily declined since the peak on April 12.

The data, displayed in a graph released by Prachuap Khiri Khan Public Health Office, also shows a sharp increase in the number of people who are now starting to recover from the virus - this is represented by the green line and at the time of writing there had 112 recoveries.

However, people in the  province, especially in Hua Hin are urged not to drop their guard against COVID-19 and continue to follow the D-H-M-T-T guidelines issued by the government.

These are:

D - Distancing

M - Mask Wearing

H - Hand washing

T - Testing

T - Thai Cha-na

On Thursday (22 April) Prachuap Khiri Khan reported 37 new COVID 19 cases, 25 of which were found in Hua Hin.

The news comes as health officials in the province have been singled out for special praise for their handling of the latest outbreak of infections, the majority of which are linked to the Maya Pub in Hua Hin.

Department of Disease Control director general Opas Karnkawinpong commended officials for quickly sanitising locations visited by people who later tested positive for the virus.

Way to go! And if they can do it in one province they can do it in all of them.

Just keep plugging away at it folks.

Funny how news of Covid being brought under control is like repellent to pesky naysayers.

Head to any topic where they have ability to question, ridicule and they'll be buzzing around shamelessly.

Not sure whether to give TV away entirely or just avoid the usual suspects and the topics chosen to bring them around their sh*t heaps.
