Thai Health Ministry wants to turn Hua Mark indoor stadium into a COVID-19 triage centre

Thailand’s Public Health Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul, called an urgent meeting today, with senior public health officials and administrators at Bangkok’s City Hall, to tackle the lack of hospital beds and to discuss the plan to set up a patient reception and screening (triage) centre, before they are sent to hospital or isolation, as befits their condition.

Mongkutwattana Hospital to open a field hospital this Wednesday

The Mongkutwattana Hospital, in the Chaengwattana area, will set up a field hospital, on a half hectare plot next to the hospital, to accommodate patients transferred from other medical facilities after the landowner, the Ruchirawong family, consented to the use of the land, said Dr. Rienthong Nanna, the hospital director, in his Facebook post today (Sunday).

Police Hospital seeks help after patient transporters infected with COVID-19

Bangkok’s Police General Hospital has asked the Royal Thai Police to send about 90 officers urgently, to help in the transport of patients, after more than 10 patient transporters were found to be contaminated with COVID-19 and many others quarantined.

Provinces accelerate vaccination for medical personnel, risk groups

Majority of COVID-19 infections in Bangkok linked to entertainment venues

Phuket officials silent on lockdown talk as island COVID cases climb to 335

PHUKET: Phuket officials have yet to make any public recognition of the possibility of lockdowns on the island as the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections rose to 335 over the weekend, with 264 people under medical care.

Thailand proposes way forward for ASEAN in addressing the situation in Myanmar in the ASEAN leaders’ meeting in Jakarta

JAKARTA (MFA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs proposed the establishment of a core group or the “Friends of the Chair” to help coordinate ASEAN’s efforts in addressing the situation in Myanmar and also suggested the ‘D4D’ concept as the way forward for Myanmar namely, de-escalating violence, delivering humanitarian assistance, discharge of detainees and dialogue, for development in Myanmar, during the ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting, where he was the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister, at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta.
