They will need to quarantine for a while on arrival but that's no different and a lot less hassle I believe.

 

The difference is what they walk into when they come out of their quarantine.....

 

Many have British passports and could self quarantine, which the government is powerless to police. Hence the introduction of the Indian variant to the UK. Pakistan and Bangladesh were on the UK red list but India only placed on it last week after Boris' cancelled visit to India for trade talks. Yet another Johnson failure in dealing with the pandemic in a timely manner.
