Not a bad idea getting the Chinese vaccinated first....when you take into account the amount of spitting they do........ it could be a win-win.

Swiss embassy: we can not export vaccine to other countries. Would breach contract with suppliers. Might comprise further supply.

Don't bother us!

rumour has it the Dutch embassy staff got their vaccination....  For the rest of the Dutch they dont seem to care much.

In fact, this makes sense.

Vaccines should be given to nationals of foreign countries at their respective embassies.

Why not?

Last I looked there were only around 50,000 brits registered living in Thailand.

They could do us all within a week at the embassy in BKK, its big enough!

Where are you, Brian? ????

Brian is leaving Thailand shortly. I think the British Embassy in Bangkok is now only the 12/F of AIA Building on Sathorn Road. It might take a while to vaccinate 50,000 in that space; but it's not even an issue. It's simply not happening, and never will.

Same for US embassy. Plausible proof they got prime stuff.

Heh, a few weeks ago someone started a topic about what the US Embassy should be doing about vaccinating their citizens here abroad. The thread was full of replies like, why's that the embassy's job, you expect too much of them, etc. And well, here the Chinese are.

The public health system of China is superior to that  of the United States

The USA will do sfa for expats, expats seen at best a political liability

forgot to mention he loves a garden party....

I've read that there is a certain garden in Bangkok which now has an out of service THAI 737 as a garden ornament; maybe he can get invited there.

Chinese are faster out of the gate vaccinating their own nationals than Thailand is putting together a live, ongoing vaccination program of its own.

Sheesh...

Yeah with a whopping 4.7% fully jabbed. USA and UK should be looked at for this progress.

Does it mean their vaccine is a huge success, and they have no more active cases? ???? Or someone thinks we are totally stupid and we can't see what may be going on.

The later, and there definitely has to be more dirty little secrets hidden and buried to their official rhetoric that is told. Even the WHO now has their problems with the real truth, and on good grounds they should. Let's see how many Chinese staying in Thailand actually will take them up on the Sinovac jab. surely the people in their country are not mass lining up to get it.

Not everybody lives in Bangkok.

Sounds easy, but a days bus travel to Bangkok + 1 overnight stay, queue at Embassy to get first jab + 1 day travel to return home to spend 14 nights self quarantine, to emerge just in time for the second jab, repeat, a complete wasted month.

Does that make sense?

Makes sense to offer both........ that and the 'Thai' alternative........(if and when it arrives).......if you don't want to make the trek fair enough.........wait for the vaccine to arrive where you live.

Which supposed to be the better of the 2. But the Chinese in Thailand will be offered Sinovac won't they not?

Not sure to be honest....I wouldn't be surprised if there are two batches......Sinopharm for the Chinese, Sinovac for the Thais.

No telling. Nothing is transparent with them, but perhaps the majority of the Chinese living here are more Intune with current events and more educated free thinkers.

This is merely anecdotal. Foreigner I know had a call two days ago from a private hospital in Bangkok where he spent time last year for an underlying condition. The said that due to his condition of record they were prepared to give him vaccination against Covid-19. He asked how much? Answer, 10,000 THB. He declined, unfortunately without asking which vaccine they were proposing.

The event comes as many foreigners of different nationalities living in Thailand are asking:

What is our government doing for us?

And when can they get in line for a vaccine from the Thai government.

And, more saliently, when can we buy a vaccine from a private hospital?

Come on, Thai Gov, give us a break, we don't want or need your free vaccines, let us pay for it ourselves.
