House Speaker Chuan Leekpai at the Parliament on May 25, 2021

Some members of the Thai parliament have been told, by House Speaker Chuan Leekpai, to keep discipline among their aides, one of whom allegedly tried to jump the queue of people waiting for COVID-19 vaccination in the parliament building over the weekend.

Mr. Chuan issued his warning during a meeting of government and opposition whips and representatives of the cabinet on Monday. The meeting was convened to discuss the framework for a debate on two executive decrees, on Thursday and Friday, and the timetable for deliberation of the Budget Bill for the 2022 fiscal year.

The House Speaker, without naming names, told those attending that he had received complaints claiming that some aids to a cabinet member and MPs had tried to jump the queue of parliament officials waiting to be inoculated, adding that one also allegedly shouted at the medical personnel administering the vaccine shots.

Probably of the party of Prayuth.. They think they can do everything because their big leader will back them up. Besides they want to show how good the Sinovac vaccine is .... or did the get Astra and were they afraid it was out of stock when it was their turn??

I am not surprised by this. If I leave a bit of space between me and the 7-11 counter, it is not uncommon for a thai to slither into that space... and then act shocked when I call them on doing it

I'm sure some enterprising reporter can dig these up, yes?

The reporters will surely know and have passed the info onwards and upwards but it stopped at the newspapers legal advisors.

You can print the truth in Thailand, and still be successfully sued for publishing it.
