I need to transfer ownership in Pattaya of a motorcycle with Bangkok plates. Name change only .

any advice please . Would a yellow book and pink id be OK instead of residency certificate'

would you use a DVL testing station or use an agent at a bike shop

2 trips to change to local Chon buri plates, can only be done in Chon buri, cert of residence required i believe

can use an agent to keep the Bangkok plates with your name.

DLT Phuket direct visit proved highly productive in my case.

Blue Book, Sale Contract, Seller Signed ID, Pink ID, 300 baht......

secured DLT officer doing all the thai language papers for New Phuket Blue Book & Plates

in my name. Suggest use DLT Agent only for specific need (bad DLT, convenience etc.)

I'm interested how  they manage that ?

Other wise agree that  Chonburi  wont accept a Yellow book, has to be crtificate of residence ,  the change has to be done at the main Chonburi DLT in Chonburi town 60KM's from Pattaya  and that it takes 2 trips  because you have to go back and get the new number plates.

@jippytum It would be worth asking at  a couple of the "MOT"  test centres  if they could do all the running around for a small fee  on top of the fee to change names and plates look for this sign.

had an agent change name to an address in Sattahip, on a Bangkok registered bike, cost a lot.

since then have always changed plates at Rayong to local plates, now can be done in one trip, take the bike on the back of the pick up, change plates while there. always in wife's name address now in Ban Chang.

Lived all over LOS - still on same plate

There is no reason to change it just because you move to another province  the yearly tax, insurance and "road worthiness" test can be done at any of the testing centres or at a DLT doesn't mater what province its registered in for that.

Problems may arise if you need to get a new green book (because the old one is full up)  or need to change vehicle details like colour or engine number  and the registered owner   of course an "agent"  may well be able to smooth over the problems.
