Farang bashing  at its finest.
Prisoners living 6 to a cell and the big factories housing illegal immigrant workers in windowless dorms 8 to a room are perfectly safe ? Just look at the statistics of where the big clusters are and stop being in denial.
I dread July 1st when the hordes of new farangs descend on Phuket as they inevitably will do when it re-opens. Pass the face masks and sanitiser !!!

"when the hordes descend"

Another reason not to visit mafia Island.

We all feel this man's pain and the best way for Foreigners to cooperate with his fantasy accusation is to avoid Phuket entirely. That way he won't have to worry about the nasty Farang-19 flu which started in Farangland and is only spread by Farangs.

As this addressed to English speaking foreigners, could someone please tell me how many of these people have been tested positive to covid19 in Phuket?

Those Dirty Farang getting inebriated again causing the puritan Thai officials grief again .

Deport them all then Thai people will have Zero income.

Brains like balls of SNOT.

If he is making the same effort to appeal to the Thais on the island then this is probably fair enough. If he is only targeting foreigners then its just racist and shift blaming.

One thing I'll never understand - for a country where 'Face' is everthing, why don't they get nafive English speakers to proof read things?

After the most recent outbreak , of the first 200 infected , 164 were Thai.

And this , in a tourist hotspot !

I urge the Thai people to listen to their government and stop gathering to eat shoulder to shoulder and spend all night drinking Leo and sharing each others food.

This makes we farang sad  and spreads the virus to us.

I urge the Governor to send the message and speak clearly to the Thai people living in Phuket.

Or blame shifting....????????????

I admit it when I go to sleep I don't wear the anticovid mask and when I eat I have some difficulties with the mask

You need to open the link to get the full letter.

"Many cases of COVID-19 infections have derived from any party organizing, thus, Phuket province seeks cooperation from General Consuls and Honorary consuls in Phuket to monitor and inform or advice your own citizens avoiding to gather in large group to hold or involve in any types of parties which violate the Order of Phuket Province. Any persons who violate or fail to comply with Phuket regulations will be fined or receive a jail sentence, or both."

I'm a little confused - who organised and ran those big parties that started the third wave, foreigners or Thais? Have those people been prosecuted?

They've decided to prosecute the Managers !

Not the owners who plan and drive these big events.

Just the managers who try to make THEIR  directives work...

Oh god this one has set the whining complainers off.

The cheek of the man asking foreigners to actually abide by rules to stop the spread of the pandemic.

Doesn't he know who we are?!

We are the entitled, we were told by WHO last year we don't have to wear masks, we will not let governments tell us we can not socialise, my wife Karen will do whatever the faag she wants to do, getting drunk in groups is our constitutional right,  we have human rights to do whatever we want even though we are in your country.

We come from countries with 80% of the deaths and have spread it far and wide.

We will not be told.

The governor is wasting his time. We are the FARANG!

I note the meeting with the consuls was on April 27th and these letters were issued one month later.

I wonder if they spent all the time in between making sure the English was perfect?

Another misleading headline.

It isn't about ALL foreigners, only Western (farang) ones, given the notice is in English.

The number of farang miscreants is minuscule compared with more than 90% other foreigners, many of whom arrived illegally through porous borders.

In my opinion, that notice is unnecessary and I for one am offended!

Am

Took me awhile to read through your post but I agree.

No. Thai citizens and the expat community call for cooperation from government.

Do something. Do anything. Just do not do nothing. Get your act together. The people need you. It is not just about what you can get from your people. It is about what you can do for your people. Get it?

You don't seem to understand, as you are accustomed to absolute fealty. But, we are getting very angry. Your lack of action demonstrates an extraordinary lack of capability. You will feel our wrath in the years to come.

am I the only one here who sees this differently?....Disregarding how this official goes about it,is n't it incumbent on all of us temporary residents to follow the rules?...whether we agree with them or not, whether thais follow the rules or not should n't we set an example of good citizens.                .People who flaunt the rules by hosting parties or walking down the streets without a mask on and when asked to put a mask on,instead lifts the middle finger.I mean where is the respect?

Because Thai people are always right in Thailand.

I had an ex girlfriend argue to the point of tears that when a Thai writes English incorrectly, it is the fault of the English reader for not having a better understanding of how Thai people write in English.

I also had a Thai colleague ask me to correct an email she had written in English. After I had corrected all the errors, she sent it to her Thai boss to "check it", and the boss put all the "Thaiglish" mistakes back in.

There are hardly any foreigners on the island , I wonder why the insistence on making out as if it is foreigners who are spreading the virus

Because they will end up being the only ones unvaccinated. It will make finger pointing easier when there is another outbreak.

Typical, embarrassing & cringeworthy comments from poorly educated “stooges” that only landed in the job via nepotism & cronyism.

They can forget all about crowds of tourists.   You can’t get Travel Insurance for cancellations & delays that are pandemic related .   And until the last case of Covid disappears , that will be the situation .   Nobody will bother risking their cash to come to a deserted, dilapidated & poorly serviced destination that it is now.

Australians are still suffering snap lockdowns....another one today.

Blame who ever they like......it won’t matter since the game is over for Tourism for years to come.

I have to stop reading these posts. The stupidity will NEVER stop on their side so I need to stop reading to stop making me more angrier than I already am.

I feel the same. These daily idiotic announcements drive me mad. As does the fact that not one leader knows how to prepare any kong oh strategy.

It wouldn't surprise me.

Once all Thais are vaccinated, they will probably start separating the number of daily cases between  Thai and Farang (like they currently separate the prisoners figure) just to highlight how many of the dirty farang are undisciplined, rule breaking, disease carriers.

  • Popular Post

I thought I'd seen it all a year ago when Anutin started his racist rants about 'dirty foreigner',  but that was eclipsed a week or two back when they said (in all sincerity) that farangs would receive the vaccine after all Thai people, at the same time as homeless people. I guess this statement adds nicely to the cornucopia of overt racism and xenophobia that fogs the brains of the Thai ruling class. No wonder the country's such a basket case, sigh.
