What do you look for in a Thai Woman?

I'm asking this question strictly referring to Thai women for long term relationships/marriage.

For me personally, a Thai woman must possess a few main attributes before I would even think about getting into something serious with her.

 

they are the following :

 

1. Must be well educated, preferably bachelor/master/Phd.

2. Has a solid circle of friends who are similarly educated.

3. Has a stable job on a decent income.

4. Does not hang around in bars in her spare time.

5. Has never been and does not mix with bar girls or prostitutes.

6. Enjoys similar kinds of food as I do.

7. Has a decent taste in music & films and/or is willing to learn about them if she doesn't know much.

8. Does not have any psychotic brothers that sleep with a pistol under their pillow.

9. Is calm and affectionate and does not fly off the handle every time I spill beer on the couch.

10. Has a great smile.

 

Those are my 10 main points that any Thai woman who wants to have my ring on her finger must satisfy.

Since I'm already married to my lady (got hitched in 2004) I will respond in hindsight:-

 

1. Nope - no idea when she left school (EDIT Seems she did 4 years starting at age 10. Rest was learning at home, explains why she's so good with our plants and animals and she cooks like a dream).

6. Sort of, she cooks Italian and UK (taught by my mum)

Reading that list I am surprised that you post this on Thai Visa.

 

IMHO the main criteria is that I must be happy with her.

Good education and a good job brings no happiness. I wouldn't mind if my wife would have a good education and a good job. But then if she would be young and pretty and well educated and a good job then she wouldn't choose a guy who is at least 20 years older than her, me.

 

Can and should someone really select the future wife with such a list of criteria? I have a friend who always enjoyed going to bars and having fun. At some stage he decided to marry a decent women. She is educated, has a good job, and they are comfortable together. And now my friend sees this young, pretty, sexy, uneducated girl and he enjoys every minute with her...

Now I won't share the meme since it would likely put me in Thai Visa jail but there was a joke about a man on a dating site that was removed because he responded to that question of what he most wanted to find in a woman and he answered using a term for his private part.
