Wow love seems to have evolved in the internet age.

I never used an App or a newspaper or anything like that to look for a girl.

But if people do that it doesn't make much sense to write: If I look into your eyes I want to have that spark that you are the one.

So instead they write about education, size, all those things that are supposed to be measurable. And then if they see such a perfect person which matches all their criteria then what? Great, marry her? Or maybe: Now I see you in person and I look into your eyes and there is nothing, no spark. Any more time together would be wasted.

P.S.: But the waitress girl in that restaurant was really cute, I should go there again...

yeah, but some people are luckier in love.

myself, i've been in a bunch of failed relationships.

it makes you a bit paranoid to get into another bad one, so you start making checklists.

not like the checklist guarantees anything, though.

it's called being prudent.

Why anyone would want to jump head first into a relationship with a thai woman without doing a thorough background check is beyond me.

I've heard too many horror stories to be that daft.

Well nothing guarantees anything in any human relationship, we are human after all, and people change.

I'm gonna generalize here, and I now there are exception to every and any rule.

But as we age, those changes become less profound. Yes maybe you like different music than you did 20 years ago, but your fundamental belief systems gets more and more set in stone.

And again, don't hate me here, but the closer in age two people are, those belief systems harden in sync.

The real bummer is when belief systems diverge radically, thats when middle age, and older/younger relationships can hit the rocks

What a wonderful comment!

I think it's always good to have an open mind. Many of us think they have a clear idea about what they want, including, or maybe even especially, when they go out for a night of fun.

Many think they want the best looking girls. Really? Sometime I look at the websites of bars which show absolutely stunning girls. And then I visit those bars and at least some of those stunning girls are on stage in front of me. And I could buy them a drink and more. But do I do that? Seldom! Because often there are other girls were one look is enough to know: I want her. Could I explain why? In some cases probably yes. But often it would be hard to explain. I just got the idea that I am interested in this girl and not that one.

And I think that is what we should keep in mind: Forget about all those criteria which we can make up what we want and what we like and what we don't want.

Relax, get inspired, and look what happens. Don't try to fixate on criteria which are hard to define. Let it happen and enjoy.

Well said !

I think at the end of the day, those searching for all that criteria will eventually end up happy one day, no doubt with AI ????

Jump right in, enjoy the ride,

I do.

But when it comes to choosing a long term partner I'm just a bit more careful.

That's all ????

For me, as long as she has a pulse and dose the dishes i'm happy...

I'm not worried about the pulse, as long as she's still warm to the touch.

Hey, i must have similar tastes/requirements as you because my Thai wife (of 22 years) has these exact 10 points, and I love her as much as the first day, i feel blessed ????

Back in the early days, people would get confused when they saw this well dress Thai woman with a farang slob...but now I got rid of my 20 y.o shirts and now look passable lol

A woman like that certainly isn't looking for a farang. She's interested in a thai man with the same qualities.  So that leaves you out.

Imagine you would make a comment like that anywhere else than Thailand...

Make sure she is as willing to move away and live abroad as you are.

Don't build a home in her village.

Make sure she is interested in what you are and much more.

Make sure she is at least as clean as you

Make sure she moral values fit yours including her view on the Thai laws 112 etc.

Make sure she has a close view of Thailand as you do.

Make sure he values about life and animals are similar to yours. You might like a cat but she could be one who would loss it out the door rather than deal with it.

Make sure she's not in debt to her relatives in any form and she isn't totally communal thinking. You may find your wife taking care of babies of relatives more than you.

Make sure she has good language skills and wants to know more and improve them.

Make sure she is truly open to and interested in your culture. Many show interests but really just want to live a Thai life with financial security.

If you are creative or want to try things like business etc, make sure she is going to be interested in that. Many women just want the money every month without the work as a family unit.

There's lots more to consider of course.

They say or someone said 98% of happiness(and success?) in life will come from marrying the right person. It's not a lie.

"well dressed" is not really important. Lots of dresses bring attention. And with a girl like that next to you nobody will even notice that there is anybody else next to her. ????

According to 2021 standards that would be a cheap hooker. Is that what turns you on?

The real quote is a thousand dollar a night hooker but thought I would lower it.  Sorry for being out of date what is the top price in BKK now?

I probably spend more time over buying a car than I do buying a woman.

Always check the mileage, look for any leaks under the hood, give it a really good road tests.

I'd say my Thai GF would fail at least 50% of the criteria you are using.

I'd also say a woman with those qualities is pretty rare world-wide, let alone Thailand.

Is thin and has small boobs. And loves me. Gosh I hope that's not objectification.

Or at least wants to stick around for my money. Is that objectification from her?

It's amazing how many men in Thailand never felt loved.

I like britman but his stuff is getting rather boring. I would never bang a Thai woman who most likely has a history of many middle east connections and 3 for 1 Indian special.

As they say... To each their own...

The problem is that we men are wired to believe that only we can fantasize about doing nasty stuff and even do it while still being happy in a relationship.

Women are just as nasty as we are. The 'good girl' who never worked in a bar has accidentally cheated on you, maybe just emotionally, with her work colleague.

She has forgotten to disclose to you that she accidentally got drunk just before meeting you and gave 2 blowjobs to 2 different strangers on the same day, just because she wanted to know what it feels like to be a whore.

Men cannot tolerate this idea, so we let ourselves play along with the fantasy that there are 'good girls'.

It's rubbish
