It was actually a spoof by not the Nine O'clock News I believe that had:-

  • Seaman Staines
  • Master Bates
  • and Roger the Cabin Boy.

As a wee lad I did enjoy the adventures of Captain Pugwash.

Well I was not so little but great entertainment and can still  be because they are on Youtube

Wasn't there a TV program  a couple of years ago when  a British naval ship visited Phuket and the sailors got the jetski scam?

Isn't Phuket the "Hub of jetski scams" ?

Did the scammers live?

If so the RN is rather different to my day ????

We wouldn't actually have killed anyone (well not deliberately anyway), but PTSD would have sent them scuttling for cover at the mere sight of an RN uniform.

It was even mentioned here on TV:

Well, if they are similar equipped as the UK police, they would not be able to without guns

The pride of the British Fleet the brand new aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth left UK for a tour of Asia a couple of days ago.

As "Encore" mentioned could be that battle group that is visiting.

That would be a sight to behold  1988766805_FlagWaving.gif.95d33d2c61a1a8de57c741d641022ac9.gif

Given the numbers mentioned (400 or so), it will be one of the escort vessels, probably a Destroyer, not the QE itself.

The plan is to have some 420 British Royal Navy personnel visit as part of an outreach program to help foster relations between the UK and Thailand

that is certainly one way to put it

Well from now on then any short time interactions with gogo dancers or bar girls should be described as participating in the nations outreach programmes.????

Quite possibly it originated on the wireless, I'm sure I remember it on TV, but that could be a false memory it was a long time ago.
