In yesterday's CCSA briefing, the spokesman continues  to be very vague about specific details of registration for expats, and with less than a week to go now, this is really becoming concerning.

The Spokesman made a curious announcement that the rollout procedures would be determined by the individual provinces, with each having their own particular scheme as to who gets vaccinated first, and suggested that expats look to their own province for more information... but did not provide any more details on how to do that!

I just visited my own hospital in Jomtien yesterday for a flu vaccination, and when I inquired about registering next week through their hospital, they seemed completely uninformed about the June 7 Registration date!

In fact, I not only queried my doctor, but Hospital administrator as well, and both semed completely unaware of the June 7th date! They did not even know what the CCSA was.  They knew nothing of the stated June 7 opening date for registration, and the only advice they could offer was that, "...at present, vaccinations were only for Thai nationals, and that I should visit their website for future updates..."

In other words, the local hospitals seem to be completely out of the loop on the June 7th date regarding expat registration, and completely unaware of the CCSA or their daily briefings!  I mean, if hospitals and doctors don;t even know what the CCSA is, It's starting to make me wonder if the CCSA is merely a public relations effort aimed at expats.

With less than a week to go before registration begins, there really should be MUCH MORE SPECIFIC INFORMATION BEING PROVIDED FROM THE CCSA AT THIS POINT!  I am really starting to lose faith in these daily briefings, if the hospitals don't even know what the CCSA is!

Does anybody have more information on where to turn on the provincial level for more actionable information?

I am afraid I can not help you as my province is in exactly the same boat. Even the poo yai tried to get registered/vaccinated at 2 hospitals and failed. And when I go I still get ' sorry Thai only for now'.

What I want is a list of participating local hospitals and a definite date to register.

I also want to know if I will get a full dose or short changed, and a guarantee of a second jab.

I fear none of this will be forthcoming and I'd be better pinning my hopes on a much later appointment with a private hospital offering a decent vaccine.

The announcements have little to do with reality or organizing anything or passing on information to Hospitals, they seem more about PR spin for the government, amazing. Already registered on mor prom but even with that nobody knows if foreigners will be vaccinated. Hospitals mostly have not been told anything.

Sadly, I'm beginning to feel the same way; that CCSA is more about putting a positive spin on a flawed rollout.  I really want to believe this is a wrong way to look at things, but with less than a week to go, and my own doctor and hospital not even aware of what the CCSA is, much less the June 7th "official" registration start, I am starting to have serious concerns about timely public vaccinations for expats.

Whenever I think of how screwed up things can really get when bureaucrats are involved, I think of my experiences in the Immigration office.  Need I say more?

On the basis of the old saying, "There is no such thing as a free lunch", and on the fact that most government handling of huge endeavors like a nationwide rollout are usually fraught with equally huge bureaucratic foul-ups, I'm placing my faith in a private hospital rollout of vaccines for expats.

I mean, when commercial enterprise (which is what a private hospital really is) is in charge, results are always superior to what the public sector can achieve.  In others words, "you get what you pay for"!
