More importantly (surely?), hospitalisations and deaths remain low.

Thats exactly what every cov-idiot in Europe was saying last october when cases spiked but hospitalizations and deaths remained low.  Then hospitalizations and deaths went through the roof a month later.

Looks like Brits may be looking at another summer at home in Blighty.

Do not forget that the "cov-idiot" (your word) also said... that vaccines do protect against Covid. ????

Oh but wait... Aren't 50 % of adults fully vaccinated in the UK ?

And 75 % with one dose ?

What a pitty. Bad luck.

I guess then, we need more... jabs.

Oh wait... but it was scheduled even BEFORE the arrival of the terrible indian variant.

You may not have noticed, but most adults in the UK have had at least 1 dose of vaccine now. How many had been vaccinated last October? None is the answer. Unless you're suggesting vaccinations don't work?

What additional 'unlocking' is due on 21 June?  I thought that the UK had pretty much unlocked already?  Crowds are back at sporting events and concerts, schools have been back for months, pubs are open (inside and outside).  What's left to unlock?

You may not have noticed, but over 60 million vaccinations have been administered. In addition, and apparently no matter how many times its said, some people just can't take it in, efficacy and effectiveness are about infections. Not about the severity of infections. In fact, Astra Zeneca and Pfizer are very powerful in reducing symptoms serious enough to require hospitalization. And by the way, they're even a bit more efficacious at lowering mortality.
