Where have you seen ‘cases where a touch of poison to the body can cause you to go unconscious’ ??

Did a secret agent tell you that ?

There was that hotel in Chiang Mai that had one particular room whereby any guest sleeping in there would die. The deaths puzzled everyone for weeks until it was discovered that maids had sprinkled bed bug powder on the mattress. The powder was absorbed by the sleeping guest via their skin and ended up in their blood stream.

I think one or two guests that stayed in that deadly room actually died in the hotel's swimming pool.

Actually, there are dozens of cases in Mexico & Latin America of resort bars selling counterfeit alcohols containing adulterants which have caused the imbiber to drown, or return to their hotel rooms and die "mysteriously".    Even alcohol bottles in the room minibars have been found to be counterfeit & containing toxic substances.

Thailand wouldn't be above doing the same.

Were they wearing clothes or bathing suits?

I thought I saw an earlier news pic of medicos carrying a fully clothed female out on a stretcher.

really?? you know a couple of Myanmar workers are currently in a Thai jail rotting away for something they most likely didn't do, but I guess that's funny to you!

I guess the son will be watched in the future to see how he lives, and if he is indeed as innocent

as he may appear to be at this point.  I am just suspicious by nature. I doubt if the butler did it this time.

Geezer

And certainly now the rich son can choose the mysterious girl that his parents had opposed for marriage in accordance with the Indian tradition and lived rich and happy with a beautiful happy ending.

A few brown envelopes can always help happiness

Why not call a spade a spade and list all those crooks running the island?

I mean, on one side they cry loud as hell for tourists (well not all, some are still on the dirty farang loop) and on the other side this place is a grave yard for countless unclear and unsolved cases (well not all, some possibly alien innocents are on death row in Bangkok).

It cannot be that anybody is that influential not to wake up the sleeping dogs in Bangkok over a mysterious death trap which, on the other hand, is being visited by some in a completely cordoned off cluster - compliments by Navy and the state's finest forces ........

Ah, but once they've turned over that particular stone, they will have no idea how deep it is. ????

Have to say that:

1) a lot of the pools on the island (Inc this one, have specialised "deep ends” for SCUBA training and are not always adequately signed.

2)The approach to the deep end is a tiled incline usually from waist depth to about 1.8- 2m.

3) It is very easy for the unwary to move out of their depth and into difficulties

4) Alcohol consumption is a big factor here

5) Where the couple capable swimmers?

6)Plausible that during a pandemic low occupancy period

a) pool area and grounds were not adequately patrolled or monitored

b)non-diving guests were appraised of the hazards

c) warning signs/barriers were not present or inadequate for the scenario.

I have also known swimmers who fear deep water! It's surprising but it's true. They would be quite happy swimming around in shallow water, but if they strayed into the deep end and realized it, they would panic.

That was never proved to be the case.

I think the point is that the local police are in no way trained to deal with this kind of I identify and to save face they will do anything  to make it go away ...even if this entails framing a couple of suspects or using unsatisfactory policing methods.

I wouldn't expect any more info until the autopsy has been done in BKK, and the brown envelopes (if required) have been negotiated.  That may require weeks of waiting on lab results.

The Dowtown Inn (same group as Empress, Park and Rati Lanna)
It was completely torn down not long after the scandal.
