Recently I've been heavily targeted (wrongly, since I've been living here for 14 years) with ads from a Hong Kong registered outfit SponsoredWorkpermit.Com which urge me to make an appointment to find out how I can:

"Enjoy Thailand and live here like it's your own country"

"Finally feel like I belong (in Thailand)"

"Never worry about Immigration again"

Apparently, this applies to "corporations and solo entrepreneurs who want to live and work in Thailand".

I'm not sure I understand how this could work since my recollection is that you'll need to be receiving and paying tax (presumably) on a minimum salary of about 35,000 baht a month.  Has anyone actually looked into it?

Basically you would be working for them or a company they operate to get a work permit and a extension of stay based upon working. It is mostly for those working online or freelancers.

You have to pay them part of your earnings to pay income tax and for their fee.

There is no minimum salary to get a work permit. But to get a extension of stay the minimum salary is 50,000 baht a month for those from most western countries.
