Indeed. I haven’t been able to cut my grass for the last three days. The ground is too soggy.

but hopefully the intrepid 300 arriving on day one won’t mind a beach holiday in the rain. It is warm after all.

(Elsewhere on Thaivisa today the tourism minister toned down those assessments after a visit to the island yesterday).

Better to be a tad pessimistic and then be delightfully surprised than to be overly optimistic and then have your expectations shredded.

That's called stating the bleedin' obvious Ryan. Not up to your usual impeccable standard.

Sorry a little under the weather today, I don't want to rain on your parade however.

"He intimated that the government are keen that no mistakes will be made"

why does it often seem that the Generals are keen to ensure that the experiment fails - ??  Is it so that they can claim that the Foreigners do not deserve to come to Thailand?

It will be interesting to know if the "Sandbox" project will have better results than Israel which was until now one of the COVID success stories...but they face now a serious rebound with the Delta variant

Israeli town turns 'red' due to COVID outbreak - the first in months | The Times of Israel

What does the Thai Govt know that the Israeli govt doesn't?

Israel delays reopening of borders to vaccinated tourists until August

The government on Wednesday voted to postpone next week’s planned reopening of Israel’s borders to vaccinated tourists amid concerns over COVID contagion from abroad. It also approved the renewed formation of a so-called coronavirus cabinet to oversee its response to an upsurge in COVID cases.

The moves came as Israel sees a jump in daily coronavirus cases, which health officials have largely attributed to the more infectious Delta variant brought from abroad by infected travelers.

At this time of year the onshore wind and rain runoff dirties the sea all the way up the west coast of the peninsula from Singapore to Yangon. It's not the best time to visit,  covid or no covid
