Vaccination appointments, made via the Mor Prom app by people aged 60 and over and those with any of the seven specified underlying diseases, have been brought forward, from August to July, amid the increasing spread of COVID-19.

According to a Mor Prom Facebook post yesterday (Monday), those in these groups, with vaccination appointments scheduled in August, can get inoculated at the Bang Sue Grand Station in Bangkok in July, and that officials will call them up to make a new appointment. The arrangements for people who already have hospital appointments for vaccination in July remain unchanged.

The move is aimed at reducing severe COVID-19 cases and deaths, as the elderly and those with chronic respiratory disease, heart or blood vessel disease, chronic kidney disease, cerebrovascular disease or stroke, cancer, obesity or diabetes are deemed to be at greater risk of severe symptoms and death.

Great news, I hope the under 60s will be soon in Khon Kaen.

I hope that the foreign over 60s with underling chronic conditions living in Khon Kaen will be vaccinated soon!  I was told I would have to wait until October before I receive mine when I went to register at KICE!

Foreigners I know have already been vaccinated. Did you register with the Mor Prom app?

I absolutely agree with you:
Only we ask ourselves the following:

How many people are over 60 + people with risk diseases in Thailand?
15-20 million?

How many of this group of people in Thailand have received at least one vaccination?
I don't even want to talk about complete vaccination!

And how many people have been vaccinated in total so far?
The latter figure is still the easiest to determine …

not in a panic but this whole scenario is becoming more concerning for me now than at any time throughout this mess. Thailand is ripe for explosive rates with the lack of previous infections, the lack of vaccine and the substantial increase in its transmissibility now. I'm concerned that after its ravages in Indonesia and Malaysia, it's about to get dire here. Though I really hope I'm wrong, I guess it was just a matter of time..
