COE - Application pending over 1 week

Featured Replies

I’m puzzled as to what could be going on with my COE. Traveling from the US intending to take part of the Phuket sandbox reopening. I submitted my pre-approved COE application Wednesday last week (granted this was pre sandbox system update) with my SHA+ booking, etc…however instead of getting rejected, the application has just been pending for over a week. I’ve tried emailing the US embassy to no avail since it’s been well beyond the 3 business days. Any thoughts on what’s going on? I also tried to create a new application (just to see) which wasn’t allowed since I already have an application pending. Has anyone else had a COE application get lost in ‘pending’ limbo over a week?

Same with me here in Spain: "Waiting for approval. Your application is under consideration".

Website claimed maximum 3 days to answer, but 5 days waiting so far.

Isn't the COE issued by the Thai embassy?

I am sure he meant the Thai embassy in the US.

When you submitted your COE application they did not have all the detail about the sandbox yet.

Info is here on the embassy website. https://thaiembdc.org/phuketsandbox/

Did you submit your COE to the embassy or one of the 3 official consulates. You have to be living within the area of responsibility to apply at the embassy. Info is here: https://thaiembdc.org/notification/notificovidsituationinthailand/

Some people have reported that their Sandbox COE applications were by mistake ASQ applications / pre-approval.

After doing a complete new attempt and approval process, it worked for most of them.

My understanding is that they are prioritizing by departure date. When is your departure? I applied to the Consulate in Chicago on Monday, and got my COE on Tuesday for a Wednesday departure. I’m in Phuket now.

What was your route to Thailand? How long did it take to put everything together, please? Thanks
