In a statement, Pacquiao said those wounded in the crash will also receive P20,000.

The financial assistance will come from his own pocket, he added.

“I join the people in praying for our fallen heroes and for the immediate recovery of the wounded,” the senator said.

Pacquiao is currently in the United States to train for his upcoming boxing match against Errol Spence Jr. in August.

According to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, 46 people were injured when the C-130 plane of the Philippine Air Force crashed before landing at the Jolo port.

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana has ordered an investigation into the incident, and experts will be looking closely at the evidence from the recovered black box.
