Popular Post Sheryl Posted July 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 11, 2021 If it is the hospital where he is registered under the 30 baht scheme it should have been 30 baht the second time as well. 6 2

MrJ2U Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 If he's registered at that government hospital it should have been .30 baht. Maybe they took advantage of you noticing you were a farang. 1

So no, I was not a persecuted farang,. Edited July 12, 2021 by 1FinickyOne 1

There is a registration system (where you are listed as living) and assigned medical unit for normal service (which can refer up if needed). Many people do not register home at current location so have to use service as pay as go (which anyone can use) but if an emergency will be treated as if registered there until stable. 1 1

I've also heard that patients often get medicine prescribed which would be covered under the 30 baht scheme, but can opt for better brands that are more effective or have less side effects if they pay for it themselves. In those cases the bill will be a tiny bit higher than the 30 baht. 1

Can go to any hospital (even private hospital are supposed to treat emergencies for 30 baht, but not easy to get it...). 2nd time was a followup. He should have gone to the hospital he is registered at to get a referral to the other hospital. However that would have cost him 30 baht twice: 1 at the registered hospital and 2 at the other hospital. However, if he needs more than 1 followup he can get a referral for few weeks or even few months and that would be 1 time 30 baht at the registered hospital and 30 baht for each visit to the other hospital. 1
