Unfortunately I don't believe any of these reported infections and deaths.

However it appears that many here do by posting graphs and data. I feel sorry for those who swallow it without question. Surely there must be a little voice at the back of your mind saying these numbers are bull shirt.

I don’t believe the official numbers are comprehensive, but neither do I believe they are fake.

There is actual information in the official numbers that can be used for analysis of the trajectory of the epidemic.

How Thailand rode out COVID waves only to be hit by ‘virus tsunami’

Image

The latest wave of COVID-19 in Thailand has dwarfed its predecessors, with daily figures surging to nearly 10,000 new cases and almost 100 deaths. So, how did Thailand get to this point after doing so well to contain the first wave last year?

The sudden uncontrollable rise in infections is being blamed on several factors, including the highly-contagious Delta variant, limited supply of vaccines, trafficking of migrant workers, and ineffective control efforts.

Here is how the COVID-19 crisis unfolded in Thailand since the virus first arrived last year.

Of course, they are BS, as they are truly much higher or do you believe Covid is a lie...please partake in the discussion and explain why either way.

We seem to have lost most of the “Covid is a hoax” types, and now we are down to:

”I had Covid last year, and it was no worse than a cold. No, I was never tested”.

or

” I work out in a gym and have a healthy immune system, so I don’t worry about Covid”.

For the record, I am fully vaccinated with Moderna, and I worry about Covid.

delta is a different animal, it is now infecting the under 40's who were the last on the vaccination priority in the UK understandably, delta has changed all that

Like I have said many times - this virus and the fundamentals change rapidly - delta even brought along a whole set on different symptoms - it's like is it a different disease entirely

The corona virus has always infected the under 40s, it is just that they are much less likely to get seriously ill if they have it.   How many people under 40 are actually on ventilators or dying from the virus in the UK where cases are still 30,000 a day and not that many under 40 will have been double jabbed yet?

exactly my point, one jab or unvaccinated are requiring treatment many are under 40 - go figure

Across England overall, estimated infection rates increased in all age groups and were highest in those in school Year 12 (aged 16 and 17 years) to age 24 years.

The unused areas of Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports will be utilized for setting up field hospitals. The arrangement of another 7,000 beds was being made because of the current #COVID19 situation. The field hospital will open for service around August

Delta at the heart of new infections worldwide, may require new lockdown protocol

The latest wave of the coronavirus outbreak caused by the Delta variant may be too contagious for existing social distancing measures, experts say.

The latest data reported by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) this week adds to these findings, with researchers telling the paper that the Delta variant may be so transmissible that they are “worried the virus could leak out easier and require harsher lockdowns.”

As of June 22, 2021, more than 4,500 sequences of the variant have been detected in at least 78 countries, including Thailand.

Well, you can’t get much harsher. Already you’re not allowed to talk on Thai trains.

How do you know many under 40 are requiring treatment from those graphs in that link?   They just report the number of infections amongst the young is going up,  but this alone is pretty meaningless without knowing how many are going into hospital and they do not break this down by age.   Also worth pointing out is that school kids have to carry out 2 tests per week I believe so the numbers of infections will be skewed to the young.

What do numbers in the UK have to do with Thailand?

I tried looking.   I can see the graph that breaks down the numbers "infected or tested positive" by age.   What I cannot see on there is the number of hospital admissions by age.  The graph just shows hospital admissions increasing but not by age.   So I was asking how it was you were able to establish that many under 40 year olds are requiring treatment from that link as I cannot see it.

Not a lot, but I was responding to this post that stated:

I wonder how crematoriums can overrun with only 90 extra deaths a day. Unless of course its a lot more that we don't hear about.

If there's one thing I've learned living in Thailand for so many years it's that Thai governments (elected and non-elected alike) hate being criticized so will always try to hide/downplay anything negative so I'm fairly certain those numbers are very much on the low side.

Presumably this also means "all" foreign workers in Thailand?Maybe it's just those on the lower end of the pay scale maybe not.Kind of shows their true colours really especially those that buy respect with money.

BANGKOK, July 14 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha does not oppose the idea of inoculating people against COVID-19 with different kinds of vaccines in series, according to the government spokesman.

Anucha Burapachaisri said the prime minister wanted the fastest vaccination for people, especially for elderly ones and those suffering chronic diseases.

Regarding a proposal on the mixed use of different vaccines for the first and second jabs, the government spokesman said, the priority was the fastest inoculation for as many people as possible because the Delta variant of COVID-19 was easily transmissible and was spreading rapidly.
