All kinds of deliveries.

Restaurants, groceries, whatever.

If you're paying online you can do contactless delivery and then you don't even need to see the delivery person.

But if you're paying cash as I do you do need to have some contact. Sometimes you even need to get change.

They're always wearing masks. Good for them.

But you're at home.

Do you / should you wear a mask when you open your door?

For a long time I wasn't.  The exchange was so quick, even though it felt a little impolite to them.

But lately with Delta that we know spreads super quick, super easily, and is airborne, I started wearing a mask to accept deliveries.

It does feel a bit much but since I started doing it I've felt that the delivery drivers appear to be more respectful like they're glad that they're being respected in this way.

None have appeared to seem surprised about it.

So what do you think? Are you masking up at home to accept deliveries or not?

I mean, it’s not even the delivery guy you should be thinking about so much, but the next 100 innocent customers he is about to come in contact with. Do what you want just saying it seems you are “being rude” to a lot more people than just one. A delivery man is almost the perfect vector, is he?

I pay with my True wallet or debit card so no cash involved.

I always wear a mask when the courier calls by.

Those that have come just lately have not asked for a signature, they just pass over the package, we exchange pleasantries and they are on their way.

And don't forget to wash your hands after unpacking, just in case.

What do you think are high risk people?

Are delivery guys, who see many people each day are high risk? I think so.

Why would you not wear a mask when you see a high risk person?

Take it on, take your delivery, take it off, that is not really a lot of hassle.

I've masked up for delivery folks since March 2020.    Grocery or mall runs: the disposable mask worn in store gets disposed of as soon as I'm back in the car; multiple errands means multiple masks consumed.   Clothes worn out and about get taken off on the first floor of my house, and lightly sprayed with watered down Detol or Isopropyl alcohol mix before going into the laundry bin.   Shoes also get sprayed down, even if they don't enter the house.    Showers are a must before doing the *won't you be my neighbor change to lounge wear* routine no matter how brief the trip to the outside world is.   If I have to go out five times today, it's five showers.

Yes we wear a mask and the mrs alcohol sprays the parcel and we wash hands.

Food is microwaved for 40 secs.

In the last great pandemic to ravage the globe, the plague in 1348-1350 in the West many people, especially doctors, used to purify the air through the 'bird beak'. So this is what I use. No chance ill catch covid.
