Well, maybe since US, and UK and others have lower demand for a new vaccine Novavax will be available.

But as you say, not available yet.

Whats "approved", Novovax?

If it is, no one's saying so.

What most people call 'science' regarding Covid vaccines is marketing promoted by the manufactures as well as so called experts with conflicts of interests.  So we get articles and "news" published by main-stream media outlets which support a single, corporate viewpoint and reject all others.  That's not "science."  Science is founded in publish research studies that are open to academic review, comment, and scrutiny. 
This main-stream articles are not news, they are marketing. 

 

A serious danger is that vaccine trials will soon be conducted in weeks instead of years.
Caution tossed to the wind as the "Experts" say "the benefits outweigh the risks" and regulatory agencies simply become a rubber-stamp mechanism for trillion dollar industries who have successfully engaged in regulatory capture.

It works until it doesn't.  Then the blame will fall on people who had nothing to do with problem.

No you are absolutely right, not approved. Just had good test results. Don't know what I was thinking.

Also, may not be to continue in process for EUA (emergency use authorization) and may need to apply for full auth.

Have you looked into how many potential vaccines have been scrapped for poor safety or poor efficacy results?

They are numerous..

for example:

Imperial College London/Morningside 

Merck/Themis/Institute Pasteur 

Merck/IAVI

altimmune a bio/pharm company in USA

University of Queensland

The companies don't undergo the expense of submitting an application unless they have a chance of approval.

Even the mighty Merck pharma scrapped two vaccines in development that did not pan out.

Rubber stamping is not occurring.

 

Also, Novavax has not been approved as codemonkey pointed out I was wrong to write that, just has published some positive test results.

Additionally, Novavax may be asked to change its application for approval in the US from EUA to full authorization because effective vaccines are in use in the US.

They may be allowed to continue with request for EUA because it has been in progress.

I think this is the same technology as the two Cuban vaccines that they claim +90% efficacy for. Might have to pop across to Vietnam if you want a shot.

There are plenty of mainstream articles reporting on independent scientific research regarding vaccinations. And, of course, at this point there is overwhelming evidence that vaccinations work. Reports from hospitals show that the vast majority of deaths are from the ranks of the unvaccinated.

One caveat about the Novavax data is that it was conducted before Delta was prevalent.
