What they miss is the "easy life" jobs are available but they DONT want to do them, shortage of people to work on the land for a start , sitting on your ass all day in a bar or selling food is easier. What's the point of that? I am sure it is possible to find damaged buildings in any town (and then show it again and again). And it seems some people think that if at one stage business was great that means it always has to be like that. No! I know lots of people in Bangkok who lost their work in the entertainment industry. And many of them go back up country and work there. I am sure they don't make as much money as before but they will survive. The are flexible enough to react to changing situations. That's the key! Waiting for it to get better and demanding someone else should pay for that is IHMO the wrong attitude. And for the record: I know there are old and disabled people who can't easily change. And it seems there are lots of volunteers around to help these people.
