Crime Suppression Division police armed with a search warrant from the Khon Kaen court raided a house in Ban Pet, Muang district of Khon Kaen.

 

They arrested four administrators of an online gambling operation and took into evidence 20 items. 

 

It was the latest bust that has seen almost daily arrests and seizures in recent months and revealed the amounts that can be earned by the gangs and lost by the public when it comes to online gambling.

 

This one had a turnover of 30 million baht in just three months.

 

The case came to light after a tip from the public to the CSD Facebook site that youth in Khon Kaen were doing drugs and gambling.

 

The site had 15,000 members, reported Daily News.

 

Games such as slots, bingo, catch a fish as well as football gambling were available.

How much did they pay out in winnings ?

Will Thais ever stop gambling? No.

So why don't they legalize and control gambling - and earn a lot of tax?

 

The only answer I see is that if it would be legal then all those people who are paid to enforce the laws can't make any money anymore by not enforcing the laws. TiT
