According to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong wants politicians to work together to combat the Covid-19 outbreak.

This was delivered by Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, according to the PKR president, during a meeting with political party leaders that began at 2 p.m. on Tuesday (Aug 17) and lasted more than two hours.

Anwar further claimed that all of the party leaders there reached an agreement to work together to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic consequences.

When a new prime minister is nominated to succeed Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Anwar claims the King specifically stated that there should be no "sore losers."

"Everyone expressed their opinions, and it appeared that there was a general agreement to put an end to the old, tedious practises of politics."
Development must be at the forefront of the new political landscape.

"The topic here is not the selection of a new prime minister," he told reporters outside Istana Negara's Gate 2 on Tuesday afternoon. "The King and the Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong wish to build a new political environment that is more peaceful and invigorating for Malaysians."
