Police in the Chang Klang district of Nakhon Sri Thammarat in southern Thailand have arrested a Thai man called Tawan who murdered his pregnant wife last week.

A large crowd of onlookers turned up for the reenactment of the crime.

After locals noticed the smell of decomposition emanating from a two story house some way from the main community the police found the body of Petchaporn upstairs on Tuesday.

Near the body were two bloodstained items - a heavy hammer and a severely dented aluminium water dipper (khan).

Tawan, the victim's husband had disappeared. He was known as a heavy drug user with many instances of trouble and a warrant was issued.

The crime is believed to have taken place on 12th August.

His fate was sealed after he made a call to an organisation about someone fainting at the house. He had turned off his phone when the police called back but he was soon traced and admitted what he had done, reported Sanook.

Neighbors reported that Tawan was a totally changed man when he started taking drugs.

He quit but then went back to his drug taking ways. Passers-by the house had often heard arguments and the lights were on 24/7.

The deceased was four months pregnant, they said.

Yes, that´s brilliant! Blame it on the drugs and not the one taking them. You just created a perfect excuse in court. The drugs forced themselves into my life cycle.
