More than 12,000 tested by ATKs in Phuket, more than 500 COVID cases identified

PHUKET: More than 12,000 people across Phuket have been tested by antigen test kits (ATKs) since Aug 1, leading to more than 500 COVID infections being confirmed, Phuket Public Health Office (PPHO) Chief Dr Kusak Kukiattikoon has confirmed.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's central bank has approved additional measures to assist debtors affected by the country's coronavirus epidemic with income and jobs declining, as an economic recovery will be slow and uneven, it said on Friday.

Twenty-one people arrested in Soi Buakhao area for allegedly gathering, drinking alcohol, and breaking Covid-19 rules

Pattaya, Thailand-  A total of twenty-one people were arrested tonight in Central Pattaya for allegedly breaking current laws and orders designed to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus, according to officials with the Pattaya Police.

Thailand wants answers over berry pickers’ Covid-19 outbreaks in Finland

Since the beginning of the month, over 200 berry pickers from Thailand have been diagnosed with Covid-19 while working in Finland and now Thailand has asked Finnish authorities for an explanation regarding the series of Covid outbreaks among the Thai nationals.

Aug 20: Huge surge in recoveries but pregnant woman one of four COVID-19 deaths in Prachuap

Health officials on Friday (Aug 20) reported 71 new COVID-19 cases and 4 deaths, but on a more positive note, a large number of recoveries were also reported.

Six arrests and 11 million Ya Ba seized in bust north of Bangkok

Police at the Metropolitan Police Bureau led by Pol Lt-Gen Phakpong Pongphettra announced the arrest of six men and the seizure of a large quantity of Ya Ba (methamphetamine mixed with caffeine) plus other evidence.

Phuket marks 101 new COVID cases, one more death

PHUKET: The latest Phuket Provincial Public Health Office (PPHO) daily COVID situation report has marked 101 new local infections on the island yesterday (Aug 20), bringing the total number of people recognised as infected with COVID-19 in Phuket since Apr 3 to 2,401.
