Popular Post Bkk Brian
PCR tests, total of 16,536 official new infections, with 328 of those from prison and 16,208 from community (lowest since 27th July). 264 official covid deaths recorded still high. Lets hope that typical delta wave pattern is kicking in and this is a genuine trend change, positive numbers although more declines in pcr tests. Rapid tests positive cases, 2,670 bringing the unofficial total to 18,878 https://ddc.moph.go.th/covid19-dashboard/ 48,487 official pcr tests carried out yesterday. Popular Post HampiK
The numbers going down, but the testing also going down a lot to 48'487 (27.08.21 average 7days) from 51'635 (the average the day before). This is a drop of testing of 3'148 in average and an average drop of 3'000 is a huge drop. 8
Popular Post ThailandRyan
I hope what we are seeing is reality and one would hope that truthfully the numbers are being published in total with clarity and not being hidden from sight. With the ATK test kits being administered and then folks doing their own testing at home, how do we know what the real positive cases are, whether they are asymptomatic or minor symptoms that folks choose to treat at home. I guess at the end of the day the Government believes the numbers, but being a weekend I wonder. Additionally, and for the folks in the country I hope these folks understand the openings that they are about to undertake starting on September 1st. Do I want folks to return to jobs, for tourism to get better, for the economy to improve and for kids to return to school, well yes I do. However, I want it done realistically and with safety in mind and not just because it needs to be done for financial issues. Whatever happens going forward, and as Anutin spouted yesterday "Once we open there is no going back". The totality of this mess and lack of vaccinations, yes they have improved, but how many vaccines are truly in hand. It appears from articles I have read and other sources that this Government has gone hat in hand and is asking for donations from other countries who have more vaccines then they can use. We can jam these folks up all day long for their ineptitude and for not joining Covax, but at the end of the day that is in the past and they need to start getting the train back on the track. Yes I am back to using analogies in my posts, and I hope that it is made clear on how I really feel. Do I believe the numbers given, No I don't, but the reality is they are the numbers that we have to deal with and the ones the Government bases decisions on. Stay safe folks take care of your entire family and should you need assistance from this government just keep trying to call the numbers they list. I spent 3 days calling trying to get my GF vaccinated and finally made contact with someone at a hospital here in Bangkok that told me they are slowly moving the ages down, and since she is under 40 there is no way at this point to get her vaccinated and to have patience. Kind of hard to do sometimes when the new rues now for dining out or shopping, or even opening her salon mean that she has to be tested regularly and have a Yellow card. More rules and more restrictions that still put a kink in the hose, for people trying to get to work and make money, or even go out and help those shops needing money. Enjoy your Sunday. 7
Popular Post Marvin Hagler
Roughly speaking this would be a 100% increase in vaccinations and a 20% reduction in case numbers in just one day. Absolute BS.
Popular Post dinsdale
Numbers down, testing down. Probably see testing going down to 40k and infection numbers dropping accordingly. As for the vaccination number of 915,738 doses in one day I think works out to more than 10 people per second recieving a jab. Correct me if I'm wrong. 86,400 seconds in a day. As I have previously posted a friend and 155 others where he works recieved their 2nd AZ jab just 3 wks after their first. How many others have had the same thing. A very good way to increase double jabbed numbers rapidly. I hope this is picked up by news outlets. Complete sham that puts the health and longer term protection of the recipients at risk. 8 3
Popular Post Marvin Hagler
I will make a bold prediction based on how utterly shameless these guys are…at some point in the next 2 weeks they will report 1,500,000 vaccinations administered in a day.
Popular Post brewsterbudgen
It really does seem that some sense of normality (even if it's a "new normal") is returning. Inter-provincial flights can start again from 1 September, and presumably buses too. Some people (like me!) need a holiday! It's also interesting to read the comments from restaurant owners this morning, regarding the new restrictions being more restrictive than the lockdown ones! Hopefully, the government will be forced to backtrack. Edited August 29, 2021 by brewsterbudgen

Two possibilities, with some sarcasm: 1) Bad choice of words....should have used 'remained' rather than 'dropped' 2) It was actually above 20K, but for goal-seeking reasons was 'dropped' below 20K by the PTB

There's a story on the other site we can't quote from. Most airports are requiring double vaxed certs. This is not good. My 2nd vaccine is mid October. What about buses I wander? Double vaxed cert? Kadilo
Nearly a third of the population now received their first jab and over 10% fully vaccinated, with a prediction that they could achieve 70% by beginning of January. buick
the growth in the 7 day average for daily deaths has slowed quite a bit. it made a big run from 180 range, btwn august 10 and 14, to 250 by august 21. but over the last week we are still seeing the 7 day average number for daily deaths at about 255 (ranging btwn 262 and 247). you can see the chart in the link if you scroll down and click on the 7 day average in the daily death chart. it looks like it might be topping out (no more 300+ numbers please !!). https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/thailand/

Those who want to desert the lockdown and return to familial homes have by and large already done so. Infections arising within the province are actually going up. Average number of infections arising within the province were 15-20 a day until fairly recently. Now they are up at 40. See my chart below (data reported today not included) Total numbers for Isaan are now coming well down also, but I don't have any splits showing infections arising within the other Isaan provinces. I expect that the Sisaket profile (coming well down down in total but local infections rising) is repeated in some (/many?) of the other provinces. Macrohistory
It's going to be interesting to see the reactions by about mid-October of all the superficially brave blowhards here demanding that we "open up NOW!" As they see people all around them (even children) falling ill and gasping for breath as they literally suffocate to death -- and there are no hospital beds to be found -- the formerly brave among us may decide: "I should have been careful what I wished for." Oops -- too late!

ikke1959
I am wondering how they managed to get so many Pfizer vaccines suddenly. I can remember that Pfizea announced in July that all orders would be come next year because they had no capacity anymore...At that point Pfizer was not ordered by the Government yet. The US has given 1,5 million doses and suddenly there are a lot of jabs available...for schoolkids, the frontline medics, elderly people ..Besides that they announced that there would come 120 million doses this year. Sinovac, Sinopharm, Astra Zeneca (10 million a month???) but nobody says anything about the Moderna.. I am very confused...
