Thailand TV Series and music Copyright

Featured Replies

When you watch Thai soap operas, especially the old ones, there is a ton of them that use music from American blockbuster movies.

Has copyright been respected in this case or is it pretty much the wild west? I do wonder as many of these series were produced by major Thai TV channels.

That's what I'm asking. I don't know for sure, but I can probably guess. I've heard music from Back to the future, Batman Begins, Broken Arrow, Scream and even imperial march from Star Wars.

There more concerned about the copyright of domestic music.

One of the reasons you rately hear Thai music blaring from Beer bars in resort cities like Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Phuket, etc.
