Can I extend my non-B visa after my work permit expires?

Featured Replies

Please forgive me if this question has been asked before.  I looked for a similar post but didn't see a recent one.

My WP expires at the end of September and don't want to travel 17 hours in a plane without being fully vaccinated.    My appointment for a second dose is in Bangkok but isn't until October.

Thanks for any info.

If you are outside the country when your current extension of stay ends (it is not a visa) you will have to get a new non-b visa at a embassy or consulate after you employer applies for a new work permit for you.

Are you finishing employment?

If so, you can't extend your (permission to stay) you will need a new type of visa unless out of the country to apply for a Non-B.

If you are staying employed your work permit is easily renewed.

The (visa) "permission to stay" is the hardest!

As far as I am aware they haven't brought any jabs conditions in yet. (Thank F@K)

Mine is due Oct.

Actually, I'm only hoping for an extenstension so I can stay in Thailand until fully vaccinated (Oct or Nov).   I plan to return to the states afterwards.

You could end your extension by having it canceled to apply for a 60 day covid 19 extension to allow you stay longer.
