Popular Post snoop1130
BANGKOK, Sept 6 (TNA) – The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) is likely to switch to the imposition of the Communicable Diseases Act in place of the Executive Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situations to handle the COVID-19 situation in the country and thus it will automatically cease to exist. Sources said that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha would convene CCSA on Sept 10 to evaluate the COVID-19 situation after lockdown measures were eased over a week ago. Besides, the center was expected to end its roles and let the government impose the Communicable Diseases Act instead of the executive decree to deal with COVID-19 from Oct 1 onwards. Popular Post johnnybangkok
I don't often feel too much sympathy for Prayut and his lot but he is in an unenviable position; open up early and risk another surge with it's associated deaths and the overwhelming of health services or keep it all closed and keep destroying tourism and many, many businesses. The key to it all is the vaccine roll-out. They dropped the ball early doors with this (so no sympathy) but if they can get the numbers up to that magic herd immunity figure then that's when things get easier. The problem of course is with only 7.8 million having received their 2nd dose, this still looks a long way off. I reckon we are talking a minimum of 2022 before we can get back to some sense of normality. Anything before then is just asking for trouble. 3

spidermike007
All credibility is lost. Nothing these goons say can be trusted. Their word is NOT their bond. Zero cred. You break enough promises, and nobody listens to you anymore. So, stop talking, and start acting. That is what adults do.

crazykopite
BS , I cannot imagine the controller giving up his total authority if he eases the SOE he will have 10s of 1,000s more people demonstrating on the streets !

Vaccinated still get the virus and still pass it on.

No exceptional situations, either. Well, that is rather black and white. There are a number of governments around the world, who hire ministers based on talent and experience. And some have very highly qualified people, with deep backgrounds, and impressive educations. Some really stand out, like Denmark, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden, Norway and Switzerland. Not the case here. Not at all. Pure cronyism, and appointments are rarely based on merit. That does set Thailand apart, and puts it within the ranks of Sierra Leone, Cambodia, Burundi, Burkina Faso, South Sudan, Iraq, Azerbaijan, El Salvador, Lebanon, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Guatemala, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Somalia, Equatorial Guinea, Chad, Myanmar, and Turkmenistan. Great company indeed.

Errrr yes there is. It has been acheived before with polio, smallpox, measles etc but ONLY through vaccination. You may be getting yourself confused with 'natural' herd immunity which is just a nonsense phrase thought up by ant-vaxxers as a way to avoid being vaccinated. Herd immunity can absolutely be achevied IF enough of the population (75-80%) are vaccinated and it doesn't matter if people 'still get the virus and still pass it on' because with everyone vaccinated, it does the VERY important job of not killing them. https://apic.org/monthly_alerts/herd-immunity/

And if the SOE is lifted, 76 provincial governors will make the decisions, how do you think that will work out. Look at the UK, 4 devolved nations and 4 sets of rules. I recently returned to England and only did 5 days self isolation, other nations would have been 10. With 76 provinces only the delusional would think chaos could be avoided.
