PHETCHABUN, Sept 10 (TNA) – A runoff hit lots of houses in many villages of Lom Kao district and it was considered as the worst runoff in a century of Lom Kao.

Rains had continued for days in the upper part of the district which also received water from nearby mountains in Dan Sai district of Loei province. Finally the runoff hit Ban Pong Sam Kha village in Lom Kao. Local roads were impassable and the village was isolated.

Last night the deluge also struck five other villages in Tad Kloy sub-district. About 260 houses were damaged. Vehicles were washed away and almost fell into the Pasak River. Villagers lost their household items and farming tools.

And for sure the guys from BKK wearing tinsel will give them all the help they need. Not.

No need to worry about the situation it will be monitored in the same way air quality will be monitored this coming burning season.

Maybe.

FYI I used to work in Taiwan - many mountains. Locals insisted on clearing as high up on the side of the mountains to plant Bin Lan Nuts (Beetle Nut). The locals chew this nut and then spit red coloured spit everywhere !  Supposed to help keep taxi drivers and truck drives awake. Anyway it's illegal to clear the mountain sides for any reason.  But it still happened. During the monsoon season the results were brutal.

For sure, and not enough decent drains to get rid of the water quick.

In our village in Old City they have improved the drainage a lot,  the flowing stream that flows down our Soi only happens  during very heavy downpours and clears quickly, whereas before it took all day.
